Based in Stirling, UK. Salary range – £28,000 to £44,000 depending on experience.
thinkWhere is one of the UK’s leading Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and consulting companies. Following the delivery of our new, next generation spatial data platform, theMapCloud, and growth in our market we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Developer to join our growing team in Stirling.
You will join the Operations team at a very exciting time and will have a key role in designing and building advanced GIS and web mapping applications in a fast-paced Agile environment. You will deliver innovative solutions using leading open source technologies with responsibility for the design, development, integration, testing and maintenance of our products.
If you have experience in any of the following we want to hear from you:
- Designing and developing online GIS applications and products
- Designing and developing RESTful HTTP API’s with Python
- Building user centric front-end applications using Angular
- Building and administering scalable databases using PostGIS
- Managing scalable architectures using Amazon Web Services
Specifically, we’re looking for some of the following:
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript (Angular, Bootstrap, OpenLayers)
- Python (Flask)
- PostgreSQL, PostGIS, DynamoDB
- AWS, Elastic Beanstalk, Docker
- GeoServer, MapProxy
To be successful in this role we need someone with proven development experience in some of the above technologies. You will also have experience in DevOps and Agile SCRUM methods and ideally a degree in GIS, information systems, computer studies or related discipline. While experience in GIS is highly desirable, it is not essential. GIS is our bread and butter and we can teach you all you need to know.
